Heidi and Bob are so pleased to be invited to teach at the 12th Annual Colorado Dulcimer Festival! It’s on Friday-Saturday, Feb. 6-7 at the Saint James Presbyterian Church, 3601 West Belleview Ave., Littleton, CO 80123 (just outside of Denver).
Special pre-festival classes will also be held on Thursday, Feb. 5. Heidi will be offering a special class in mountain dulcimer, “Make Your Music Flow,” for advanced beginners and up. (see the separate post on this tour calendar for details)
There are many other instructors in mountain and hammered dulcimer at the festival – for all the details and registration fees, please see www.coloradodulcimerfestival.com.
Pre-Festival Class with Heidi Muller: Make Your Music Flow (Advanced Beginner & up) This class is for all mountain dulcimer players who wish to play more smoothly (that’s everyone, right?). We’ll explore various approaches to improve left hand and right hand techniques so your music can flow more easily and sound great, whether it’s fast or slow. Then we’ll practice these skills on a variety of tunes, including old-time, British Isles, waltzes, and more. Come learn how to strum more smoothly, eliminate choppiness, create greater sustain, choose effective finger combinations, use chord fingerings that flow, strategize musical passages, slide with anticipation, and play embellishments.
NOTE: This Pre-Festival Class is NOT included in your Festival registration fee. Signing up for the class and payment are done directly with the instructor.
Class will be held at the festival site on Thursday, February 5 from 1:00 to 4:00.
The cost is $40, to be paid directly to Heidi. To enroll in the class, or for more information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
