We’re happy to be back in Tri-Cities for a CD release concert for our new album, Up Hurricane Creek, on Saturday, November 19 at 7:30 pm at the Unitarian Church in Pasco. Our last Up Hurricane Creek CD release concert before the holidays will be on our home turf, at (where else?) the Hurricane Creek Grange, just a couple of miles west of Joseph, on Thursday, December 1 at 7:00. We’ll have some special guests with us who played or sang on the album, including Caleb Samples, Mark Eubanks, Janis Carper and Roger McGee! $10 at the door, and children 12 and under are free.
Bob and Heidi are honored to be asked to participate once again in this wonderful annual holiday program hosted by one of Wallowa County’s most popular residents, retired music teacher Gail Swart. A dozen or so performers will play both familiar and lesser-known holiday songs after dinner in the Lodge’s art deco-style dining room, plus there will be caroling and a bell choir, and piano music from Gail herself. Bob and Heidi will be performing a few songs in the annual Christmas concert sponsored by the Wallowa Valley Music Alliance and the Josephy Center, held at the Josephy Center on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 4:00 pm. There will be many local musicians performing including some of our most popular musical families and young fiddle students. It always fills to capacity, so come early for a good seat! Admission by donation, which benefits both the Music Alliance and the Josephy Center.
Heidi will teach a workshop on West Virginia Fiddle Tunes at the Almost Heaven Dulcimer Club meeting on Monday evening, Sept. 26, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm. Cost is $20 per person. Heidi is excited to return as an instructor and solo performer! The Great American Dulcimer Convention is held at Pine Mountain State Park in Kentucky, starting Friday evening, Sept. 23. Heidi will teach an Advanced-Beginner to Intermediate class Saturday morning that includes some West Virginia fiddle tunes, and will give an Intermediate-Advanced class on Fingerpicked Dulcimer Duos on Saturday afternoon. Heidi will give a solo concert in Salem, OH, sponsored by the Oak Street String Band, at the Dale Shaffer Research Library at the Salem Historical Society. $10 and kids 12 and under are free.
